How early will you arrive? It is so important to us to make sure your wedding day runs smoothly. Our players will be arriving at the venue at least 1 hour prior to our booking.
-
Do we need to meet in person? We know how wedding planning is! Driving everywhere to meet with all your vendors is time consuming. I make things as easy as possible with my customized questionnaires and planning. All details can be addressed over the telephone, Zoom, or via email. If you prefer, I would be happy to meet with you at my studio in Southington.

Do you need me to provide any special equipment?Yes, please! We will need one armless chair per musician. We bring our own music stands. If there isn't significant light for us to read our music, please let us know so we can bring our stand lights. In this case, we will need access to a working power outlet. For electric ensembles, please make sure we have access to a working power outlet (2 plugs are needed). For an outdoor event in full sun, a tent, gazebo, or canopy must be provided to protect our instruments and ourselves from the sun. Please inquire to our outdoor performance policy for details.
-
How much space do you need?We need room to move our bows without hitting objects or people. We also need adequate lighting or may need access to electrical outlets to plug in extension cords and stand lights. Each ensemble has its own space requirements. Please use the contact page and I will send you specific setup dimensions. We will also need somewhere to keep our instrument cases while we are playing. (Under a table, or the nearest closet will do!)
-
What do you wear to perform? Our go-to is concert black (that is, head to toe, professional black) but we can be more formal (with tuxedos and long dresses) or less formal, (suits or day wear). You can also personalize with your wedding colors!

Do I need to choose all of the songs? It's up to you! Most couples choose the songs for the ceremony and give us a few must-plays for the cocktail hour. You can choose a few pieces and give us an idea of what kind of music or what kind of mood you would like. We can help you to select music, or we can play our favorite set-lists, filled with crowd favorites that are perfect for your event.
-
Can I request a special piece of music that is not on your repertoire lists?Absolutely! We may be able to order your piece online (if there's an existing arrangement that fits your ensemble). If not, we can make you a custom arrangement. We recommend leaving plenty of time to order and create your custom arrangement (at least 1 month's notice is a good minimum). There is an extra fee for this service.
-
Do you attend wedding rehearsals? We've performed for hundreds of weddings and are very adept at timing the music to the right length, so this is not necessary. However, you are always welcome to hire one or all of your ensemble's musicians to attend and perform at your rehearsal. Please contact Ariana for a quote.
-
Can you play with a singer or the church organist?Of course! We can accompany a singer or other instrumental soloist. To give provide the highest level of service, we need: 1. All sheet music provided in advance 2. An additional rehearsal (on your wedding day, just before the start of prelude music). There is an additional fee for this service. Please note, we have our own singers and instrumentalists available for you as well.
-
How far in advance do I need to book?To guarantee your ensemble's availability, we recommend reaching out as soon as you have your wedding date and venue booked. Weddings between April and October usually book one to two years in advance. November - March weddings usually book 6-8 months in advance.
-
Do you ever substitute musicians? In the unlikely (and unfortunate!) event that one of our team members is ill, an official substitute will step in. The substitute will be another fantastic professional from our team, someone who has performed with us before on more than one occasion, knows our repertoire, and rehearsed especially for your wedding day.
-
Do you have any favorite vendors that you could recommend?Absolutely! We've performed for hundreds of weddings and have gotten to know some incredible professionals. Check them out here.
-
Do you need to take breaks? We do not need to take breaks for a ceremony. For longer bookings (like micro weddings where we play ceremony, cocktail hour, first dances, and reception), we plan our breaks to match with your toasts and speeches.
